Timeline of Burnt Out Records….

Since our first ever gig back in 2008 we have had around 30+ gigs! The first gig we put on was Scottish Clarsach composer Savourna Stevenson. This was very exciting as it was something that we had never done before, it was the first time we got The Hub set up for our audience and the first time that we showcased Burnt Out Records. Our first gig sold around 100 tickets and since then we have just grown. Throughout 2008 we had various artists come in to play and it was a very successful first year.

Our most successful years so far have been 2012 where we had 5 gigs and 2015 where we put on 6 gigs. In 2012 we had Nina Nesbitt, James Grant and Emily Burns performing. This was the second time Emily had played for us. We also held a couple of Artist Nights where our our artists can play a few of their own songs, originals or covers. In 2015 we had Sarah Hayes from the band Admiral Fallow come to play for us, this was a brilliant evening and Sarah was fantastic. We also had Sarah come back in April this year to run a songwriting workshop with band member Louis Abbott, more about this coming soon. 2015 was also the year we had Blue Rose Code to play which again was a fantastic evening. As the year came to an end we had members of The La Fontaines come to do a question and answer session with our team, this was a great opportunity to find out more about many things they have to deal with. To finish the year we had Kirsty Law come to play who is a fantastic artist and it was another great evening of music.

We have gathered quite a collection of tickets throughout the years so we decided to frame them by year.

These have been hung up on the wall in The Hub along with other frames posters and previous team photos.

Welcome

Welcome to our very first blog for Burnt Out Records. We have lots of exciting things in the pipeline. We have a new Burnt Out Records team this year as we say goodbye to our previous members, who have now left school.

Next week we have our first planning meeting of the year, as we have a few upcoming gigs to plan. We will be auditioning for new artists in the next few months, as most of our previous artists have now left. We wish all those auditioning the best of luck.

We run a live music venue called The Music Hub and have been doing so for the last five years. Our aim is to host various different artists, in the past we have put on gigs with Nina Nisbett, Siobhan Miller and Jeana Leslie, James Grant, Blueflint, Tonight At Noon, Andi Neate, Hungry Town, Blue Rose Code, Sarah Hayes, James Grant, Emily Burns and Zoë Bestel. It is a great venue to play as it has a very warm and intimate atmosphere. We can seat around 100 people and we also have an online ticket selling facility.

Keep updated on all of our social media and look out for more posts in the near future!
